Tyler was here during his winter break, so we took him around the sites of Hilo.
| Pe'epe'e Falls -- No, stop snickering, it is not pronounced pee pee. |
| It was pretty hot in the sun, and the cold water was refreshing. |
| These fast-running waters are known as the Boiling Pots. |
| Ahhhh | |
| Fishes |
| Tyler in a contemplative pose |
| View of Hilo Bay |
| Cruise ship dwarfing the hotels. |
| Kayakers out in the bay |
| We took Tyler to Kuhio Grille in Hilo to experience local cuisine. |
| Hmmmm, so many choices ... |
| Fried rice, with spam and daikon pickles on the side |
| Saimin (ramen) noodles, with vegetables, egg, fishcake and obligatory spam. |
| Tyler's choice -- the Loco Moco (aka heart attack on a plate). Fried rice topped with a hamburger patty, egg & smothered in gravy. |
