After a brief New Year's hiatus, work on the house has resumed.
The first of the front doors was installed. We bought the doors, which are made of mahogany, unfinished and un-hung. Mitch, our builder, spent many hours sanding, staining, and finishing the doors, installing the hinges and other hardware, and installing the frames.
It's going to be strange having front doors -- we've gotten used to the doorway being boarded up. This is what the front doorway used to look like--siding and plywood nailed on (with interior doors leaning on the doorway).
