Cherimoya Fruit

The cherimoya fruit is native to South America, but they are grown in Hawaii and southern California.  We noticed them last time we were at the market because of their unique appearance.  They're about the size of a small apple.  The flesh is soft and sweet, with a texture and taste a little like a ripe pear.
