Guest house floor

While all that other work is going on, we've been working on the guest house floor. It's a very time-consuming process.  First, we arrange about three rows of boards in place to make sure that the seams of adjacent rows are not too close together and the colors and patterns look good. Then we remove the boards, put down floor glue, trowel the glue with a notched trowel to remove excess glue and get a uniform thickness, place the first row of boards down (while being as careful as possible to not touch the glue and get it all over the place), trim the last piece, do the same for two more rows, and then tap the boards to make sure they are tight.
Our progress up to today

The green board helps keep the boards from shifting while the glue dries

A couple of hours later, and a few more rows are done
